Haymarket is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Front-End Developer with an expert-level fluency in CSS, (X)HTML, and Javascript. This person should be creative, have a good eye for design and enjoy making user friendly, elegant websites. You understand such things as the difference between standards and quirks mode, wouldn’t dream of using tables for layouts and don’t need to rely on Google to lookup syntax. If you are passionate about hand coding clean, concise, standards compliant, cross browser (X)HTML and CSS we want to talk to you.
This position is unique in that you will not only be tasked with taking PSD files and turning them into working HTML, but you will also be asked to exercise your creative side and create designs from scratch. You will work closely as part of our development team to integrate your HTML into dynamic code as well as work with our business users when custom HTML elements are needed for our sites. Added bonus if you are comfortable creating the occasional icon, header graphic or background image.
Usability experience is key; not only will you be working on our vast portfolio of B2B and Medical websites, but also on our internal Content Management System as well.
Skills: Fluent in CSS / (X)HTML – hand coding, no WYSIWYG editors Live and breathe web standards Experience with Javascript and popular libraries such as JQuery and/or Prototype Experience with Ajax techniques a plus, as is familiarity with XML, XSL, JSON Able to work independently as well as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Please respond with the following:
