Job Title: Front End Developer
Direct Report: Lead Web Developer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Date: October 5, 2006
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Web Developer, this position will work closely with Strategic and Creative departments to build cross-browser compatible web pages using XHTML, Javascript, and CSS. Ideal candidate would also have a good design sense and be able to slice up PSDs, being familiar with optimizing images for the web and building to comp. Strong troubleshooting skills required. Ajax and Java Controller integration a plus. Experience with CMSs and code repository required. This person should have excellent JavaScript and HTML coding skills. Experience with Flash ActionScript a plus.
Essential Functions:
o Slice up Photoshop files and optimize images for the web
o Build cross-browser compliant web sites using HTML, CSS, and JS, adhering as closely as possible to the original design
o Work closely with the JAVA developers to integrate HTML into development environment.
o Is able to work on multiple sites at once, and deliver under tight deadlines
Qualifications:
o 5 years of experience in producing content for the Internet
o Excellent written and verbal communications skills
o Experience with development tools such as MyEclipse (or similar IDE) and CVS
o Must be able to hand code HTML
o Strong JavaScript, DHTML and CSS skills
o Experience with enterprise level apps a plus
