We're a growing and geographically diverse multi-language web development team, looking to expand our talent with a Senior Rails developer to add to our experienced team. Our primary focus is the development of a large network of local community websites for the UK and other urban areas of the world.

We've got sites built in Rails, Merb and Camping, and deployments on Mongrel and JRuby. Ideally you would be familiar with all of these Ruby-oriented technologies, as well as other languages such as Python, Java, OCaml and/or Haskell. We are looking for someone who is comfortable developing solutions for both new and existing sites, from architecture, through to scoping, timelining and developing those applications for performance and reliability in a high-load environment.

We use Scrum for our organisational process and we strive to maintain an agile environment. You will need to be familiar with agile concepts and processes, and as a senior member of the team, you will need to work closely with other senior and intermediate developers to develop your own and others' design solutions. You will need to be self-motivated in both your own work and your professional development, ensuring that you stay up-to-date in a dynamic work environment. English is our language of operation, so you will need to be fluent in both spoken and written English.

Touch Local is based in Central London (Vauxhall) and have a professional environment with great benefits and packages available for the successful applicant. We have a lively, social and supportive working environment in which you will be able to develop your career quickly.

We recently received a £7 million investment from Benchmark Capital (Balderton), who in the past have also invested in the likes of Ebay, Paypal and Bebo. This investment is reflective not only of our market position and continued growth, but of our ambition to be the very best at what we do.

If you wish to be considered for an interview please send your C.V and quote ref RoR Developer to CV[at]touchlocal[dot]com or give Kate Keilty a ring on 0207 840 4307 if you have any questions.
