Forbes.com's luxury travel destination site - ForbesTraveler.com - has an exciting career opportunity for a tech- savvy art director. We launched this new site in the Spring of 2006 to resounding acclaim. Reporting directly to the editor, here are some of the job requirements and responsibilities:
* Five- plus years of design experience in an editorial setting, online
* Should be able to hand code HTML and CSS in your sleep
* Strong conceptual and design skills with comprehensive knowledge of digital media
* Meticulous attention to detail, strong sense of ownership
* must have a solid understanding and expertise with XML, HTML, CSS, cross- browser/platform issues and modern browser compatibility issues.
* Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Dreamweaver or Homesite.
* Information Architecture experience. user- experience analysis
* Will be asked to lead the design process using wireframes and create design mockups as proof- of- concept prototypes.
* Will be asked to maintain style guidelines and direct creative, but at the same time work hands- on and complete web design projects yourself
* A working knowledge of Javascript
* Flash/ActionScript, video, audio, animation and illustration are pluses
* JSP skills are a plus
* Experience working with content management systems a plus.
